Version: 30 October 2026. This is a translation; the German version is legally binding.
The controller for processing personal data on botjobs.org including all subpages and interfaces (“botjobs”) is the company named in the imprint (“we”).
For all data protection matters, contact us at hello@botjobs.org.
When you open a page, your browser technically transmits the following to our server: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the previously visited page (referrer), browser type and version, operating system and language settings. We need this data to deliver the pages and to keep them secure.
Our web server keeps no access log with IP addresses. Error messages from the application are stored briefly for troubleshooting and overwritten automatically; they contain no IP addresses.
To prevent misuse, we count how often an IP address uses the AI analyses and “Check your job”. The count is kept only in the server’s working memory, for at most one hour, and is not written to any storage.
The website runs on servers of netcup GmbH in a data centre in Vienna. The job database runs on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH in the European Union. Both process data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
botjobs uses only a few cookies of its own. Those that are strictly necessary or store a setting you made yourself do not require consent (§ 165(3) Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR):
acceptCookies – stores your choice in the cookie notice (12 months); remindCookies – shows the cookie notice again if a function needs your consent (30 days).aj_lang – language of the website (12 months); bj_pick – remembers that you chose the English version even though your browser is set to German (12 months).jobLanguage and bj_jl_auto – language into which job ads are translated, and whether it was set automatically (12 months). The watchlist (favouriteJobs, up to 30 days) is only available once you have agreed to all cookies.
In your browser’s local storage, botjobs keeps your last searches and the jobs you viewed last (up to ten), so they can be shown again. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
Analytics cookies from Google are only set with your consent (section 5).
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure reach. Analytics cookies are only set after your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 165(3) Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021).
Without this consent – as long as you have not chosen anything in the cookie notice, or if you choose “Necessary cookies only” – Google Analytics runs in consent mode: without cookies and without a user ID. Only individual measurement signals (for example a page view) are transmitted, from which Google estimates visitor numbers; your device is not recognised. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in economical reach measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Google Analytics records the address of the page viewed. For “Check your job”, this address contains the link to the job checked.
You can object to this measurement at any time (Art. 21 GDPR), for example with the browser add-on from Google to deactivate Google Analytics. You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time with effect for the future by deleting the cookie acceptCookies in your browser; the cookie notice then appears again.
Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Data is stored according to the settings of our property, for at most 14 months.
Each job on botjobs has an AI score. It was generated by a language model from the text of the ad and assesses the task profile, not the people who hold or apply for the job.
If you open the AI score in the job detail, botjobs creates a detailed analysis live. Our server sends the text of the ad, the job details (title, employer, location, contract type), the stored score and a fixed question to OpenAI, L.L.C. (USA). No data about you is transmitted; the request comes from our server, so OpenAI does not receive your IP address.
Job ads can contain names and contact details of contact persons; these then reach OpenAI as part of the ad text. Under OpenAI’s terms for API customers, the data is not used for training and is stored only for a limited period to detect misuse. OpenAI is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
We do not store the analyses generated live. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the artistic and informational purpose of botjobs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The AI score and the analyses are not decisions about persons within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. They have no legal effect on you.
If you enter a link to a job ad, our server fetches this page once. The site operator sees the address of our server, not yours. botjobs reads the text of the ad and has it analysed by OpenAI as described in section 6. If the page cannot be read, you can paste the text yourself.
botjobs does not permanently store the link, the text or the analysis. The link becomes part of the page address and therefore also ends up in your browser history and in Google Analytics (section 5).
If the page allows it, botjobs shows the original ad in a frame. Your browser then loads the page directly from the site operator, who receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. The privacy policy of that site applies.
Please only enter links to public job ads and never paste texts containing personal data, such as CVs or contact details.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; for the content you submit, also your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
botjobs shows job ads from sources freely accessible on the internet, in particular company career pages and public job postings. Some ads name contact persons with name, position, e-mail address or telephone number.
We process this data only as part of the ad, for the informational, documentary and artistic purposes of botjobs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not create profiles of these persons and do not use the data to contact them.
If you are named in an ad and do not want this, write to hello@botjobs.org. We will remove your details or the ad without undue delay.
In the job detail, botjobs shows the original ad. Our server fetches the page from the source; for a translation, it fetches the translated version from Google’s translation service. The page displayed may load images or other content from the original website or from Google servers; your IP address may then be transmitted to these providers.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing the ad in full and in your language (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can choose the translation language yourself in the job detail.
botjobs offers interfaces for people and programs (/api/jobs, /api/stats, /llms.txt). We do not store any personal data of callers beyond what is described in section 3.
If you write to hello@botjobs.org, we process your e-mail address, your name if given and the content of your message in order to reply (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, for requests about your rights Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Messages are forwarded to the persons responsible for the project; e-mail services from Google may be used for this. We keep messages as long as needed to handle them and for any follow-up questions; statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
Transfers to the USA are based on the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR); where a recipient is not certified, on standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Simply write to hello@botjobs.org.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority: Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria (www.dsb.gv.at).
We adapt this privacy policy when botjobs or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies. See also our terms of use.
